Mr. Skidmore is a year 2000 graduate of Medina High School. He holds a BA in Music Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a Master of Music Degree in voice performance from Kent State University, receiving also two years of graduate choral conducting study. Mr. Skidmore is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association, where he has served as the Northeast Ohio Regional Chairperson and past Show Choir Repertoire and Resources Chairperson for the Ohio state chapter. He is an active member of the Ohio Music Education Association (NAfME) and serves as a vocal and choral adjudicator. Medina choirs have enjoyed strong performances and numerous superior ratings at OMEA Adjudicated Events. An active singer himself, Mr. Skidmore has performed as a chorister or soloist with organizations including: Apollo’s Fire, Quire Cleveland, Contrapunctus, West Shore Chorale, Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Chorus, among others. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, running, learning new things, eating a variety of foods, and spending time with his family.
Abigail Christman, Encore Crew Advisor and Technical Director
Abigail Christman serves as Encore’s Crew Advisor and Technical Director, bringing both a passion for the performing arts and a strong foundation in music education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in K–12 Music Education from Bowling Green State University and currently works as a K–4 General Music Teacher in the Plain Local School District, while also pursuing a Master’s degree in Special Education at Miami University. As an alumna of Encore, Abbi is excited to return and contribute to the program through crew leadership and technical directing. In addition to her strong musical background, she brings extensive training in dance, including 15 years of classical ballet and experience in jazz, Dalcroze, musical theater, show choir, and marching band techniques. Abigail is committed to creating a welcoming, safe environment where students can express themselves through music and movement. Outside of Encore and teaching, she enjoys spending time with friends and her fiancé Caleb, caring for her pets—Homer, Cleopatra, and Vader—and working at one of Ohio’s state parks.
Ms. Katie Peyton, Encore Show Designer
Katie Peyton is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Theater and Costume Design. After taking some time to work for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando Florida, Katie came home to be closer to family and pursue her passion for Theater in northeast Ohio. Katie has been the Assistant Director for The Encore Entertainment Company since 2014. Working closely with the Medina Directing Staff to bring award winning costumes and shows to the competitive show choir world. Katie had also been the resident costume designer for CAMEO since 2012 winning a Broadway World award for her costumes in the CAMEO production of The Wizard of OZ.

Michael McClintock, Combo Director
Michael McClintock joined us as Encore’s Instrumental Combo Director in the fall of 2025. He is a graduate of Medina High School where he participated in both instrumental and choir programs. Mike earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Bowling Green State University. Upon his graduation, he received the Mark S. and Helen Kelly Outstanding Future Educator Award. Michael also received a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration from Ashland University. He has conducted the Medina Chorus since 2021. Michael has extensive teaching experience in several local school districts in both instrumental and choral music; he currently teaches vocal music in the Highland Local School District. He serves as the Director of Music Ministries at the Medina United Methodist Church. He served as Director of Choirs, Assistant Director of Elementary Choir, and Coordinator of Ensembles for the Medina County Fair from 2006 until 2026. In his spare time, he has been involved as Vocal/Instrumental Music Director for the Medina ShowBiz Company as well as many musicals performed at Medina High School.
