AUDITIONS FOR CLASS CHOIRS
Join the MHS Choir Program — be a part of something special! Our MHS Choirs provide outstanding instruction and experience in vocal performance, aural skills, and sight-reading. You can sign up for choir at the high school without previous choir experience. If you don’t have choir on your schedule yet, please see your MHS counselor as soon as possible.
The four class choirs at MHS are open to any student, from freshmen to seniors, regardless of musical experience. Men’s Chorale and Women’s Chorale are open to students without a formal audition. Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus classes are auditioned in the spring of the preceding school year. This means that any student in currently in grades 8 through 11 may audition for Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus this spring, whether or not you are in choir this school year. Auditions will begin the week of May 11 this year.
Often, students underestimate their singing ability. Don’t talk yourself out of auditioning!
AUDITIONS FOR THE MHS ENCORE ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY
Encore is our competition show choir at Medina High School. Membership in Encore is open to students in grades 9 through 12 with an audition. Singers and pit band members will audition in May of the preceding school year, and crew members will interview in spring/summer of the school year.
Encore takes pride in working hard and performing well. Be sure to read the handbook carefully to learn more about group policies. Auditions are May 18 this year! We are looking forward to hearing your audition!
